Quick Ride connects riders in Tirana with nearby motorcycle drivers. This page says what we collect, why, and what happens to it, in plain words.
What we collect
- Your phone number. It's how you log in: we send a code over WhatsApp and you type it back. No passwords, no email.
- Your first name and photo, if you add them. Riders can add a name so the driver greets them by it. Drivers add their name, photo, and documents when they apply.
- Driver applications. License, vehicle registration, vehicle details, and motorcycle photos, checked by hand by an operator.
- Trips. Pickup, dropoff, route, price, ratings, and reviews. This is the record of the service itself.
- Saved places. Home, work, and places you star, stored so you can book with one tap.
- Location. Drivers share live position while they're online, and we keep the last one so we can tell the closest drivers when someone nearby is looking for a ride. Riders share position during an active trip, including in the background, so the driver can find them and the map stays live.
- Searches for a ride. When you look for a motorcycle we record where you searched, when, and how many motorcycles were available. It's how we know where and when to get more drivers on the road.
- Support messages. What you write to us through Contact support.
- Error reports. When something goes wrong in the app we send ourselves a report: what failed, the technical trace behind it, which app and version you're on, and whether it's an iPhone or an Android. Denied location permission, a location that never arrived, and a request that didn't complete are reported the same way. If you're logged in it's tied to your account, so we can tell one person hitting a wall repeatedly from a hundred people hitting it once. It goes to our own server, not to a third party.
- How the app is used. The apps report which screens are opened, how long they're used, and where people stop along the way — for example how many riders open the motorcycle list but never book. It carries the app version and whether it's an iPhone or an Android, and if you're logged in it's tied to your account. It does not include your position or the content of anything you type. Like the error reports, it goes to our own server and never to a third party or an analytics company.
- Website visits. This website counts its own page views on our own server: the page, the referring site, your browser's timezone (so we know roughly which country our visitors are in), and an anonymous daily identifier that can't be traced back to you. No cookies, no Google Analytics, no third parties.
What we never collect
Money never moves through Quick Ride: every ride is paid for in cash, directly to the driver. We hold no card numbers, no bank details, no wallets. We don't sell or rent anyone's data, and there is no advertising.
Who sees what
- Before a match, riders see nearby motorcycles by vehicle, rating, and distance, never the driver's name or exact position.
- Once matched, the rider sees the driver's name, photo, vehicle, plate, and live position; the driver sees the rider's first name, pickup, dropoff, and live position.
- Operators see trips, applications, and support messages, because checking those is their job.
Third parties
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries the login codes we send you. Meta's own terms apply to your WhatsApp account.
- Map tiles come from CARTO, built on OpenStreetMap. Loading the map sends your device's tile requests to their servers, as with any map app.
Routing runs on our own servers, hosted in the EU.
Deleting your account
Settings, then Delete account, in either app. It permanently removes your profile details: your phone number, name, photos, and saved places. Past trips remain without those profile details as service, safety, security, and dispute records. This can't be undone.
How long records are kept
Identifiable service, safety, security, dispute, and Terms-acceptance records are kept only while needed for those purposes, normally no longer than three years after the relevant trip, event, or acceptance. We may keep a record longer when required by law or while a specific complaint, investigation, or legal claim remains active. Account deletion removes the profile details listed above immediately.
Questions
For trip or account help, use Settings → Contact support in either app. See also our Terms of Service.
